This session aims to inform the participants of the congress about the guiding ideas of a Global History of Humankind initiated by the International Council for Philosophy and the Humanities in the wake of UNESCO’s six volumes History of the Scientific and Cultural Development of Mankind and its seven volumes successor known as the History of Humanity (completed in 2008) and to put forward for discussion the path towards a new kind of world history.
Additional Remark: The Roundtable informs about the planned Global History of Humankind initiated by the International Council of Philosophy and the Humanities which has invited an international working group to develop a proposal for such a new world history. Video statements by members of the working group will be on display at the Research Forum of the CISH-congress and will be discussed at the roundtable as well.
