Abstract
The increased discussion about different concepts of historical temporality has challenged the common uses of linear narratives in history studies. Especially the methods of digital history have transformed ‘mapping and viewing’ global history. Media history essentially consists of both breaks and outbreaks, different layers with a different logic and tempo where the context of a given time and space is crucial. The session discusses what these new approaches and methods mean for understanding global media history.
