Le IVe Congres International des Sciences Historiques s’est tenu a Londres du 2 au 9 avril 1913. Voila ses organisateurs: l’Acad\u00e9mie Britanique ainsi que l’Association Historique Royale avec Sir Charles Firth a la tete.<\/p>\n

Parmi les participants on mentionne les savants \u00e9minents: M.Charles Homer Haskins \u2013 sp\u00e9cialiste en Moyen Age de Harward University, Sir George Walter Prothero \u2013 historien britanique, M.Pawe\u0142 Gawri\u0142owicz Winigradow \u2013 sp\u00e9cialiste russe en Moyen Age d’Oxford University qui a pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 la section d’histoire du droit.<\/p>\n

Pendant le Congres en 1913 on a organis\u00e9 pour la premiere fois les d\u00e9bats de la section d’histoire militaire (Naval and Military Section). Les intervenants se sont concentr\u00e9s sur divers aspects des recherches. On a abord\u00e9 aussi bien des questions historiques (p.ex M.John Holland Rose a donn\u00e9 une conf\u00e9rence intitul\u00e9e \u00abPr\u00e9cis of the Plans of Napoleon for the Autumn Campaing of 1813\u00bb, M.Christopher Thomas Atkinson \u00abForeign Regiments in the British Service 1793-1815\u00bb) que des questions plus m\u00e9thodologiques (p.ex. M.Alfred Dewar a donn\u00e9 une conf\u00e9rence intitul\u00e9e \u00abNaval History and the Necessity of a Catalogue\u00bb, Sir Lonsdale Hale \u00abThe Difficulties Encountered in Compiling Military History\u00bb). Ces textes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s par Cambridge University Press parce que les organisateurs du Congres n’\u00e9taient pas en mesure de garantir leur publication.<\/p>\n

Oxford University Press s’est occup\u00e9e de publier les communications de la section d’histoire du droit. Les participants les ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es en allemand, italien, anglais et fran\u00e7ais. Ces communications concernaient les questions sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es (p.ex. M.Edwin Charles Clark a donn\u00e9 la conf\u00e9rence intitul\u00e9e \u00abNumismatic Illustrations of the History of Roman Law\u00bb) ainsi que les questions dont le caractere plus transversal (p.ex. Sir Frederick Pollock \u00abThe Transformation of Equity\u00bb). Les autres communications concernaient la tradition du droit romain et du droit dans certains pays (en Allemagne, France, Russie, Angleterre).<\/p>\n
